Tokoloshe and Krokodile.

Decision making.

After a successful relationship spanning 6 years, Tok & Krok decided to take the plunge and get married in South Africa.

Tok lived in South Africa for many years before relocating to the UK and meeting Krokodile. As everyone knows, the Tokoloshe can cast evil spells and so he did with Krokodile, introducing her to the delights of South Africa on a few holidays.

South Africa has a very special place in our hearts and as most of our true friends live in South Africa, we decided to have a wedding with a difference. Not that the exchange rate had any influence of course....

This was not easy, of course, but fortunately modern technology made it quite possible for us to get married by using the internet to do all of the bookings and wedding arrangements.

The location.

This was quite an easy decision. We both thought about somewhere we both enjoy and somewhere that our friends and family could get to easily. After a very brief discussion, we decided to get married at Pretoriuskop in the KRUGER NATIONAL PARK in South Africa. We though that we would have difficulty but this was not the case at all.

Who helped us?

Having friends living in South Africa was a great help but there were key elements that could not be done by our friends. We used the internet to establish links and contacts who were absolute stars in getting things up and running.

The catering was done by Natures Group and was simply outstanding. Have a look at what they did for us here. As if that wasn't enough, they even kept the bar at Pretoriuskop open and we partied the night away. We cannot recommend Natures Group, Bev Muller, Jason Louw, Juan and Estelle van der Westhuizen highly enough. Cheers guys!

Pretoriuskop staff were fantastic in organising the venue for us. The camp manager, Ezrom Mathumbu, and his very well trained staff pulled out all the stops for us and were brilliant at everything. We did not experience one hitch. Even when one of our war party fell ill, Ezrom rushed him to hospital at no charge. The cherry on top was the special wedding card that they made for us and presented to us at our wedding. SA National Parks are truly great at hospitality. We will always visit Pretoriuskop whenever we return.

There is one very important person who has not yet been mentioned! In order to get married, you will need a pastor to conduct the ceremony. A quick internet search led us to Pastor Jaco Venter. He prepared all of the wedding documentation, travelled from Kempton Park (east of Johannesburg) all the way to the Kruger National Park to perform the ceremony.

I would not hesitate to recommend Pastor Venter's services. He is a great guy with a very good sense of humour and really involves the wedding party in the ceremony. You want to get married? He's your man for providing the ceremony!
